For review. This page is a starting structure written for a breeder website. Please read it through, make it true of how you actually operate, and have it checked by a qualified adviser before you rely on it.
About these terms
These terms cover the use of this website and the process of enquiring about, reserving and adopting a puppy from Northfield Border Collies. Set out here the name you trade under and the law that applies.
Enquiries, applications and reservations
Describe how an enquiry becomes an application, how a puppy is reserved, what a deposit is for, and — importantly — whether it is refundable and in what circumstances. Clarity here prevents almost every difficult conversation that follows.
Choosing a puppy
Explain how puppies are matched with families, and say plainly that you reserve the right to decline a placement you do not believe is right for a particular puppy. That right is the foundation of responsible breeding.
Collection and travel
State when a puppy may leave, who bears the cost of travel, and what happens if a journey has to be postponed on welfare grounds.
Health
Refer to your written health guarantee and describe the veterinary examination a new owner is expected to arrange, together with the timeframe.
Return of a dog
If you take your dogs back at any point in their lives — and a responsible breeder should — say so here, in writing.
