Getting your puppy home

Delivery & Collection

However your puppy travels, they travel with a person who is responsible for them — never in a cargo hold, never handed to a courier, and never on a journey we would not put one of our own dogs through.

Three ways home

How Your Puppy Can Travel

Which of these suits you depends on where you are and what your puppy can comfortably manage. We will talk it through with you rather than sell you the most expensive option.

Option one

Collect Your Puppy in Person

The one we quietly hope you will choose. You see where your puppy was born, you meet their mother, and you spend an unhurried hour with us going through the paperwork, the feeding routine and everything you have thought of asking at three in the morning. Your puppy then travels home with the people they are going to live with, which is the gentlest possible version of the biggest day of their life.

  • Meet the mother and, where possible, the father
  • See the room your puppy was raised in
  • Go through the health record and paperwork face to face
  • Take home food, a familiar blanket and our phone number

Option two

We Bring Your Puppy to You

For families within driving distance, one of us will bring your puppy to your door. Your puppy travels in a crate they already know, with someone they already trust, and there is a stop for water and a stretch every couple of hours. It also means we get to see where your puppy is going to live, which we like more than we probably should admit.

  • Driven by one of us, never handed to a courier
  • A familiar crate, familiar bedding, regular stops
  • Paperwork and a settling-in walkthrough at your door
  • Distance and cost agreed with you in advance, in writing

Option three

Accompanied Travel Further Afield

Where the distance is too great to drive, a puppy can travel accompanied — in the cabin with a person whose only job on that journey is your puppy. We will talk you through exactly what this involves, what it costs, what paperwork your destination requires, and where we would meet you. If we think the journey is too much for a particular puppy, we will say so and suggest waiting.

  • A person with your puppy for the whole journey
  • Travel arranged only once your puppy is old enough and cleared to fly
  • Documentation for your destination confirmed before anything is booked
  • Every cost itemised and agreed before you commit

What happens

From Agreement to Arrival

  1. We agree the plan

Once your puppy is reserved, we work out together how they are getting home, what it will cost and roughly when. Nothing is booked until you have the figure in writing.

  2. Your puppy is prepared

In the fortnight before travel we get your puppy comfortable in the crate they will use, take them on short car journeys, and make sure the day itself is not the first time anything happens to them.

  3. Travel day

Your puppy travels having eaten lightly, with water, familiar bedding and regular breaks. You get messages and photographs along the way rather than silence.

  4. Arrival, then the first week

We hand over the paperwork, talk through the first forty-eight hours, and then check in with you. The first week is when questions actually appear, and we would much rather you rang.

What we will not do

We do not ship puppies as cargo, we do not hand them to a courier, and we do not put a young puppy on a long journey because it is convenient for the sale. If the only way to get a particular puppy to you is a journey we are not comfortable with, we will tell you — and we would rather lose the sale than pretend otherwise.
